Real Madrid are reportedly determined to offload fringe midfield players so they can sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea instead.
Real Madrid have not had a brilliant first half of the season. However, Carlo Ancelotti will hope to turn things around in what could be his last few months as Los Blancos manager.
So far this season, Real Madrid have been affected more than they usually are with injuries. Most notably, their back-line has been struck, with several key defenders including Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao and David Alaba (now back) all putting in serious time on the treatment table this season.
It is not only the defence which has been struck. Indeed, there have been some midfield absentees for Real Madrid to contend with this season, most notably with Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos all going through periods of rehab this season.
That said, Carlo Ancelotti might be looking to upgrade his midfield options, if recent reports are anything to go by.
Real Madrid determined to offload players and sign Chelsea star instead
According to a report from D Sports, Real Madrid are keen to sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea. The report claims that Los Blancos are very keen to make the deal happen and they are even prepared to go all out.
Furthermore, Real Madrid are tinkering with the idea of including their own players in a swap deal. The cited player within the report is Aurelien Tchouameni, who could be used as a makeweight to bring Enzo to the Spanish capital.
The Argentine is a World Cup winner and two time Copa America winner, so he is capable of wearing the heavy Royal White jersey. It is just a case of whether Real Madrid can convince Chelsea to part ways with Enzo, whom they invested a lot of money into.
In my opinion, Enzo would be a great signing. He's a signing who makes sense, considering his pedigree and experience on the world stage. This is the type of signing Real Madrid have become accustomed to.
