To anyone who watches Real Madrid this season, it is evident that the team has a problem with defending. The team has been conceding goals for fun in almost every game this season which has cost Los Blancos key results and will continue to do so unless some changes are made.

Given the injuries to center-backs David Alaba and Eder Militao, the only fit first team center-back in the team is Antonio Rudiger.

Having to deal with all of the defensive injuries, Carlo Ancelotti has had to deploy a makeshift back-line in almost every game this season. Aurelien Tchouameni has been getting regular minutes at the back this season, but his performances have been up and down to say the least.

Academy product Raul Asencio has also gotten a decent amount of minutes next to Antonio Rudiger and has shown that he is at the level to be a starter for Real Madrid. However, for whatever reason, Carlo Ancelotti seems to think otherwise as he continues to drop Asencio in key matches.

Real Madrid must do something in the transfer market if they hope to patch up their leaky defending and it seems they may have their eyes set on a top defender who has fallen down the pecking order at Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid eyeing a move for €35 million rated PSG center-back

As being reported by PSGtalk, Real Madrid have entered the race for PSG center-back Milan Skriniar, who is also a target of Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, as they look to patch up their shambolic and leaky defensive options.

Skriniar has been at PSG since 2023 and has only made 37 appearances for the club. The Slovakian defender has been deemed surplus to requirements by head coach Luis Enrique which has prompted teams across Europe to feel out the availability of the Slovakia international.

The defender made a name for himself during his time at Inter Milan from 2017-2023 where he established himself as a top defender in Europe. Skriniar joined PSG for free two years ago and it is expected that the French club would be looking for a fee of around €35 million.

Skriniar could be the piece that Real Madrid need to fix their defensive problems however they would have to put up with competition from the Premier League if they hope to secure his signature.
