PSG put out two hilarious statements in quick succession after losing out on signing Yan Diomande to Real Madrid in the last few days.
In what was a very, very quick move from Real Madrid, they quickly got into the Yan Diomande transfer saga, and came out of it as winners - essentially securing the services of the Ivory Coast winger for a mega fee, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Diomande, after a brilliant season with RB Leipzig, has had interest from all over Europe in the summer. Teams like Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Barcelona had all shown interest in signing the player, but Real Madrid, who entered the race at the very end, were able to secure his signing for a fee worth more than 100 million euros.

PSG, as you would expect, were furious by how Real Madrid entered the conversations and quickly closed the deal.
In what is a hilarious irony, they mentioned stuff about not wanting to pay extortionate prices for a player, not realising that is what they have done for well over the last decade and more for so many different players.
This was their first statement to Sky Sport: "PSG has this evening formally withdrawn its interest and its bids for Yan Diomande. The asking transfer fee and salary demands were completely disproportionate and distortive - and PSG will not break its principles of rational financial management and squad balance.”
Their second statement read, this time to L'Equipe: “They were asking for crazy money for a player who has potential but was playing in the Spanish second division one year ago. We won’t break the bank because a club arrived with fireworks. This shows where Real Madrid are right now.”
Besides, it is a bit of a bizarre situation. You rarely see clubs putting out unofficial statements about not being able to sign a player and being furious over it, while also starting to almost disrespect the player's quality, by potentially insinuating how he is not worth the money even though he has potential, as he used to play in the Spanish second division a year ago.
It is a sense of entitlement that is hard to understand from any perspective. PSG were leading the race for months. Diomande had reportedly picked PSG over Liverpool as the place he wanted to go after the World Cup, and had weeks to close the deal.
They kept sending offers to Leipzig that were deemed not good enough, and when Real Madrid come about and pay what Leipzig asked the French club (or any club, for that matter) to pay, they suddenly become furious and start talking about the player and the club in poor taste?
If the club wanted the player that badly, they could have sent in an offer for the price Leipzig wanted. They did not, but they are then furious at Real Madrid for doing exactly that. It is a completely fair situation, but somehow it makes no sense at all.
