Real Madrid, according to a report from AS, are going to call up Castilla player Youssef Enríquez Lekhedim for the game against Celta Vigo on Sunday.
The Castilla left-back, known as "Yusi", is another great full-back to come out of the academy. He has been pretty good for Castilla this season. It is the 19-year-old's first season playing for Castilla, and he has impressed Raul a lot, nailing down a starting spot within a few weeks.
Real Madrid only have one left-back in the entire squad. Fran Garcia is the only fit player who can play there, and it is clear that Yusi could come off the bench or at least stay there as back-up if needed. They are looking to sign a left-back next season, and a brilliant player would be delighted if Real Madrid come for him, but right now, they have to focus on what they have.
Playing Yusi for a few games could not hurt Real Madrid much, and he's actually good
Real Madrid have a lack of quality in the defensive areas, and given that they will probably not win anything this season, it makes sense for them to just give some chances to the young guns.
Obviously, Real Madrid will not start Yusi against Barcelona - who are missing a key player of their own - but they can start him in a couple of other games, or at least give him 30-40 minutes off the bench.
Real Madrid have nothing to lose, really. If not for a catastrophic failure from Barcelona this season, they will not win the league. They can win every single game from now on and still lose the league by a point.
In this case, it is really smart to play a few young players who you know will provide something else to the table. It is clear that they need to do so for the right-back spot as well, because Lucas Vazquez - a player probably headed to the exit door next season - will not be a big improvement on any of them, especially in these games.
Yusi is definitely good, though, and even though he is not the best left-back to come out of the academy, he is certainly talented enough to at least be in the conversation down the line.
