Endrick is set to stay at Real Madrid this summer transfer window, according to a report from The Athletic.
The Brazilian was inclined towards leaving, and was linked with the likes of Aston Villa and Roma, per reports, but he will ultimately stay, based on reports coming out of Spain on Monday night.
Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the player, and Endrick himself wants to stay and fight for his place.
Endrick's future has been a major talking point as of late, especially with the arrivals of Carlos Espi and Yan Diomande in the summer transfer window.
Endrick would have to fight very hard to get minutes at Real Madrid
Espi was brought in as a physical, tall striker with aerial presence, while Diomande is a player who can resolve Real Madrid's creativity issues from the right side.
Endrick, who plays well in both positions, did not get a chance to show his ability on the right side, and was always going to be second-choice at best to Kylian Mbappe up top.
There is still a chance that Endrick remains the second-choice striker at Real Madrid, if Espi does not impress.
Even if that is the case, however, Espi would still take up minutes up top due to his aerial presence, especially in games where Real Madrid are struggling to score goals. Maybe, on the other side, Espi would be brought on to defend crosses and corners, and that is something Endrick would never be able to replace.
As it stands, though, Endrick would probably remain as a second-choice player in both positions, but will definitely struggle if Espi is brought in over him just because of his aerial presence.
Real Madrid currently have seven players for three positions, which is a lot, and it remains to be seen how Endrick will be used. There will be days where Vinicius Jr does not play, in which case Diomande could go on the left and Endrick can slot into the right-wing position.
Diomande has a huge, huge price tag around him, which makes it difficult to see him being benched all that much - at least at the start.
However, Endrick does have a genuine fight on his hands if he is able to impress Mourinho enough early on in the season. His chaos alone could cause so many problems for players in his position - you can never truly count him out.
It is definitely a good problem to have for the Portuguese manager, and it will be interesting to follow the season and see which of these players end up playing the big games when the time is right.
