Real Madrid have been having injury problems for the longest time, and have shown in the past that once it rains, it pours.

Real Madrid had lost Kylian Mbappe for a while during the season, Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham have also missed time because of the same, and now, Thibaut Courtois had picked up a strain in the most recent international break.

Courtois did not play against Andriy Lunin's Ukraine in the second leg of their UEFA Nations League playoff tie, which Belgium won to advance.

Courtois did play the first leg - he played the full 90 minutes - but then it was reported that Courtois will miss the second leg due to precaution.

Thibaut Courtois should be fine for Real Madrid vs Leganes on Saturday

COPE's Melchor Ruiz reported that he does have a slight muscle strain, but is expected to be fine for the match against Leganes on Saturday.

Real Madrid have struggled with injuries, but hopefully this will not be the time where they do.

If it is reported closer to time that Courtois has still not fully recovered from the injury, it will be expected that his rival on the weekend, Lunin, will take his place.

It does not look like that right now, but Real Madrid will have to consider the games that are right after Leganes. Real Madrid will face Valencia before travelling to England to face Arsenal.

Los Blancos will expect to be as full-strength for the latter fixture as possible, and they would need Courtois' outstretched arms to save Real Madrid from trouble against one of the best sides in Europe.

However, it does seem that Courtois will be fine for the upcoming matches, and so far, he is the only player who has come out of the international break being a slight doubt for Real Madrid's first match in almost two weeks. Hopefully I have not jinxed it.
