If there is one thing that all Real Madrid fans can agree on it is that the biggest issue for Los Blancos this season has been the defense. They have already conceded 56 goals in all competitions this season which is already ten more than conceded in the entirety of last season.
The number of defensive injuries Carlo Ancelotti has had to deal with doesn't help. The losses of Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao with season-ending injuries were the two biggest blows to the backline, with Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba also seeing time on the sidelines with week-to-week injuries.
The number of injuries as well as overall poor form from some, has caused Real Madrid to assess their options ahead of the summer transfer window. While it is all but official that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be joining the club, Real Madrid have also been linked with another Premier League defender, and he himself find the prospect of a move intriguing.
Top Premier League center-back refuses to rule out Real Madrid transfer
As being reported by ESPN, standout Bournemouth center-back Dean Huijsen has refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid in his future, having been linked with the club on a number of occasions over the last few months.
While speaking in an interview recently, Huijsen was asked if he would like to join Real Madrid, to which the Spaniard replied: "I don't know, we'll see. It's a big team. Every player wants to play at the maximum level possible."
The Dutch born Spanish international joined Bournemouth from Juventus last summer for a fee of around €18 million and has since become a standout in the Premier League which has caused a number of top European sides to take note with Real Madrid being one of the most interested teams.
His contract with Bournemouth runs until 2030; however, he does have a release clause that officially becomes valid in the summer. It is still unknown what the value of his release clause is; however, some speculate it is in the range of €60 million.
For a player who is still only 19 years old and has his whole career ahead of him, this is a relatively low price to pay for a potentially generational player.
