The Spanish winger turned defender has had a really bad time at Real Madrid in these last couple of years. Combine that with the club signing Trent Alexander-Arnold for free in the summer, you are not looking at that much game time for Vazquez, in all honesty.
Dani Carvajal will return from his ACL injury at some point, and when he does, there will be even less time on the pitch for Vazquez.
It is not ruled out that Vazquez is currently playing his last few games at the club, as both parties are looking at how the season progresses before starting conversations about a possible extension.
It would be a good decision by the club to not continue with him. He has shown to be a liability on the pitch many times, and it is finally time to move on.
