Real Madrid have had an interesting summer transfer window, but they are not the only ones who have.
There are other clubs, like Liverpool, who have had a complete overhaul, and that makes them one of the favorites to win it all next season.
Liverpool have already signed the likes of Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and are in the running for Alexander Isak, who would frankly be the perfect Real Madrid striker.
That could well have a ripple effect on Rodrygo's future, considering how much money they would have to spend in order to get Isak in the first place.
So, because of that, they may have to sit it out for Rodrygo, but there is a chance they could well afford both, and that would make their summer unthinkably good.
Liverpool will sell a lot of their players
In the last few transfer windows, Liverpool have bought players, but they were never exceeding the balance too much. They were selling players at a good price as well, which made it easy for them to be in good terms with FFP.
Now, they are also about to sign Isak, after having already spent a ridiculous amount of money. Last season, the only players they signed were Mamardashvili and Federico Chiesa, which left them a lot to work with.
This season, there will be a lot of money coming in for Liverpool through sales. They will sell Darwin Nunez for a good amount. They will sell Luis Diaz for around 70-80 million pounds. They will sell Harvey Eliott, they will sell some academy players for a good amount of money.
They could even sell Ibrahima Konate to Real Madrid. In short, there are a lot of players that they need to focus on selling, but after selling such big talents, there wil be a huge influx of money as well.
They have already moved on from Quensah and Kelleher for good money, and have received 10 million pounds from Real Madrid for Trent Alexander-Arnold too.
Rodrygo will add a lot to this already stacked Liverpool team
If they are able to play their cards right, these moves get them more than 200 million in sales, possibly more.
Obviously, even without signing Rodrygo, they would not be at a net positive or even neutral. But it would get them a lot of money back, which could help them in investing some more into Rodrygo.
The chances of them signing Rodrygo are very slim, but every single club goes through one of these transfer windows where they sign a lot of players for the future of the club, and it is looked at as an investment.
That is what Liverpool are doing right now, and if they get their hands on Rodrygo, they will become Real Madrid's biggest European rivals next season.
