Real Madrid's signings this season have been exceptional and positive.
Signing a right-back after the troubles last season, a centre-back because of a lack of depth and quality, a left-back due to a lack of quality, and a creative midfielder that fills a profile the club didn't have - that is already a brilliant transfer window for the club.
Real Madrid are not done, though. They need to sell a few players who clearly do not want to stay at the club, despite rumors that they do.
They also need to sign more players, as the job is not finished.
Real Madrid's interest in Ibrahima Konate has been well documented. He is an exceptional player, that apart from his injury record, is the perfect centre-back for this team. His injury problems have died down heavily in the last two seasons, which is also a brilliant sign.
Real Madrid signing Ibrahima Konate would be huge
According to Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Marretto, Real Madrid are aiming to sign Konate in 2026, but may move for him now if there is an opportunity.
If Liverpool decide to sell Konate, Real Madrid could try to sign the player.
According to the journalists, the negotiations between the two parties over a contract extension have been blocked for a while, and there has been no improvements in their situations so far.
Obviously, Liverpool would not want to lose Konate the same way they lost Trent Alexander-Arnold - on a free transfer which left a bad taste in Liverpool fans' mouths.
Liverpool would not want that to be the case this time around, so if Konate does not renew with the Reds, we really could see them sell the player soon.
I would be lying to you if I told you I wasn't excited by the possibility. Real Madrid could use a central defender like Konate, and it would be a perfect move, especially with Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right-back spot already.
The injuries are an issue, but the last two seasons have been really promising, and with Konate, Real Madrid would have enough depth in defense to give him an ample amount of rest
Nothing is confirmed, though, and in this transfer market, in this day and age, you never know what could happen. Real Madrid may sign him this season, or Liverpool may renew him. Time will tell.
