Real Madrid have officially signed Dean Huijsen. It is mad that, despite the season not finishing, Real Madrid have made their first signing of the season.

It is an indication that things will change at the club under new manager Xabi Alonso, who has seen Huijsen's signature without even being announced in the first place. He could be one of the reasons why we might see a few departures this summer.

It is clear that there are holes in this team, and Real Madrid need to hit the transfer market to fill them.

Huijsen is a big solution, and one that has got Real Madrid fans excited ahead of the Club World Cup and the new season.

He has already been announced, and will likely be presented to the Real Madrid faithful in the next few weeks, but the question is: what kit number could the Spanish international wear?

Which kit numbers are available at Real Madrid?

At the moment, there are three kit numbers at Real Madrid that could be taken by Huijsen. Number 12 has been vacant since 2024, when Eduardo Camavinga announced that he would be taking the number 6. Numbers 24 and 25 are also available.

Huijsen currently wears the number 2 jersey at Bournemouth - and he will do so for his final two games in England in the coming week.

That number is taken up by Dani Carvajal, and it is obvious that Huijsen is not getting that anytime soon.

However, numbers 17 and 18 could become vacant next season with Jesus Vallejo and Lucas Vazquez being rumored to exits. One is more likely than the other, but there is a chance that both these players leave the club.

However, it is worth noting that Vazquez will still be a Real Madrid by the time Huijsen is presented, which could mean Huijsen will not get that number if he wants it.
