Why Real Madrid cannot afford to have yet another Leny Yoro situation

Real Madrid are a club that always have their future in mind. They are always scouting the top young talents all over the world looking for who they can sign and develop into a player they can rely on to be a key part of their future.

This strategy was used with the signings of players like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Eduardo Camavinga among others. In the case of those players the gamble paid off in Real Madrid's favor.

When it comes to the upcoming summer transfer window, Los Blancos look to employ this strategy with one of the top defensive prodigies in the Premier League, however they are reportedly losing ground to one of England's top teams.

Real Madrid at risk of losing summer signing to Premier League competition

As being reported by AS, Real Madrid are losing ground in the race to sign highly rated 20-year-old Bournemouth center-back Dean Huijsen, who has emerged as a top transfer target for Chelsea this summer with the Blues leading the race for his signature.

The Dutch born Spanish international joined Bournemouth from Juventus this past summer for a fee of around €18 million and has become one of the standout young players in the Premier League this season.

His contract with Bournemouth runs until 2030, but he does have a release clause that becomes active this summer with the belief it is around €60 million. Chelsea are said to be preparing a bid of that amount with the hopes of stealing the defender from other top European clubs.

For Real Madrid, the release clause has become a major point of dilemma. The issue is similar to what happened with Leny Yoro last season, when Lille requested more than Madrid could provide. The defender is currently with Manchester United, where he is performing admirably and repaying the English club's investment in him.

It is critical that Real Madrid reconsider their difficulty with Huijsen, as the player's performances thus far appear to be a good match for his release clause.
