After reports surfaced just over a week ago that Danilo was being targeted by both Chelsea and Juventus, it appears that the defending Premier League champions are very close to signing the Brazilian right back. Ben Sundock has more on the rumors.
Real Madrid appears to be willing to sell soon to be 26-year-old Danilo to Chelsea. I, for about 6 months now, have been calling for the club to get rid of Danilo, especially after he scored two own goals within the span of a month.
Now, it appears that Antonio Conte and Chelsea are wanting to take the less than impressive depth player away from the Spanish capital. Which I am totally fine with of course.
Brazilian news outlet, UOL, are reporting that Chelsea are pushing to sign the Brazilian within the coming weeks with an estimated €31 million price tag agreed upon by both the English side and Real Madrid.
This is very good news for Real, who bought Danilo from Porto in 2015 for about €31.5 million. At this point, with Danilo making just 55 appearances over the course of the past two seasons and showing no signs of replacing Dani Carvajal as a starter in the squad, this deal would make a lot of sense.
And from what I’m seeing, Chelsea fans and writers don’t appear to be too pleased with the reports that Danilo is on his way to London.

We Ain’t Got no History are just one of the many blogging websites I’ve read that are less than enthused with the addition of Danilo. “Chelsea look to be adding our second defensive signing of the summer, although Danilo’s actual defensive skills are… subpar, to say the least. Hopefully, Conte can work his magic once again.”
Danilo apparently believes he will receive more playing time while at Chelsea, and he wishes to earn enough notoriety to make it on the Brazilian national team for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Despite making the flight to Los Angeles with the rest of the Real Madrid squad, Danilo’s agent and friends remained in London to finish discussing terms with Conte’s side.
With his future up in the air, the Brazilian defender could have a short stay in the United States, as Chelsea will kickoff their preseason in China, before playing two matches in Singapore.
