It wouldn't be a typical Real Madrid season if the team wasn't dealing a number of major injuries. A number of key players in the squad have suffered long term, season ending injuries and that has had a major impact on the performance of the team this year.

The back-line has been the most heavily impacted this season. With ACL injuries to both Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal, the position has been thrown into disarray causing Carlo Ancelotti to deploy a makeshift backline, which has cost the team results this season.

Ancelotti has struggled to find a defensive setup that clicks and that has caused goals to leak through for fun. Lucas Vazquez has been the main choice at right-back ever since Dani Carvajal's injury and that has come with a bag of mixed results, but mostly they have been poor performances from the Spaniard.

If Real Madrid hope to get their performances back on track and keep their hopes of trophies alive, they must look to patch things up in the January transfer window.

There are a number of short term options on the table for Los Blancos, and it seems they may be looking at a player they are very familiar going up against in the Champions League.

As being reported by Sport, Real Madrid are interested in bringing in Manchester City fullback Kyle Walker on a six month loan to help patch up the struggling right-back.

Walker has been rumored to be looking to leave Manchester City, with a number of Saudi Arabian clubs interested in his signing, however he would rather stay in Europe, and that's where Real Madrid could come into play.

It is no secret that Los Blancos are keen to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer as their long term right-back, but until then a short term option like Kyle Walker could be enough to help save Real Madrid's hopes this season.
